Overview:
TE Consumer Devices is looking for an experienced RF Antenna Engineer to join their team. This position will be located at our antenna laboratory in Aptos, California and will report to the lab Fellow.  Primary function of this position is to support new product design.  
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Responsibilities
  • Project Management and RF support for Global Consumer Antenna projects at the engineering and manufacturing plant level.
  • Design of antennas for tablets, notebooks, smartphones and other consumer devices.
  • Support Sales and Product Management during customer visits and to the manufacturing plants.
  • Troubleshoot RF/design issues during production startup.
  • Support Global TE Antenna design Centers as needed.
Background and Skills
  • Minimum BS in Electrical/RF Engineering required.
  • Experience designing consumer product antennas.
  • Understanding of antenna manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience using standard RF testing equipment such as VNA and antenna test chamber/fixture setups.
  • Experience in active OTA and SAR measurements a plus.
  • Experience in WiFi throughput testing a plus.
  • Experience using antenna simulation software, such as CST or HFSS a plus.
  • Experience bringing new antenna products to production in a manufacturing plant atmosphere a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization.  Proven ability to turn lab test data into professional reports.
  • Flexible in working hours and travel.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter, willingness to make difficult decisions and do “whatever it takes” to satisfy the customer.
